Hawaii is actually a group of volcanic islands situated in a central Pacific ocean.  These islands lie 2,397 miles away from San Francisco and California to the east, 5,293 miles from the Manila and in the Philippines to the west. The most amazing thing about this group of islands is Honolulu which is the capital of Hawaii. This capital is situated on the island known as Oahu. These all islands were actually annexed by the U.S. in 1900. 

The United States territory started the plantation system in this region for growing pineapples and sugar cane.
Hundreds of Japanese fighter jets attacked the U.S. naval base at Pearl Harbor which is near Honolulu. This sudden attack destroyed about 20 vessels, murdered more than two thousand American soldiers. This situation propelled the American into World War II. This was an unforgettable experience for the whole American nation. Most of the people still cannot forget this devastating event.

Hawaii became a 50th American state on 21st August, 1959. There are many attractive and modern swimming pools in this American state.
